Project Summary
Steven will spend his fellowship year developing “The Educational Awareness Fellowship”, a community service and education based program designed to increase high school graduation rates among minorities in San Francisco. Guided by core principles of valuing education, creating peer groups and providing community service, the Fellowship will encourage students to participate in community service projects, and attend social and educational gatherings. The ultimate goal of the project is to increase college entrance rates of minorities. Dawn and Ron Stueckle, co-directors of Sunset Youth Services will serve as Steven’s mentors.
