Project Summary
Libby will spend her fellowship year assessing tidal power capacity along the Northeast coastline of the United States to determine the prospects for tidal energy development. She will then use the findings of her technical study to assess green jobs, community development and carbon reduction in the Northeast region. Another aspect of her project is a fun, informative website about the basics of tidal power (www.tidalpowerUS.com). Libby’s mentor is Dr. Ian Austin, Vice President of Marine Services for URS Corporation.
