Personal Profile:
Ligy Pullappally is the acclaimed writer, director and producer of the multiple award winning feature film, The Journey (“Sancharram”). She served as a judge at the Chicago International Film Festival, and for the McKnight Screenwriters’ Competition. She lectures widely on the subjects of writing and independent feature filmmaking. Formerly an attorney, Ligy most recently acted as Litigation Director of a Chicago agency, served as Vice President of the Indian American Bar Association of Chicago, and as an Executive Board member of Apna Ghar, a social service organization. She is a recipient of the national Sunshine Award for her work in women’s advocacy.
